VOLUNTEER
OPPORTUNITIES
DIRECT CARE
VOLUNTEERS
:
  • Visits with patients/families when requested.
  • Assists with light housekeeping duties.
  • Courier duties.
  • May also help with fundraising activities, office duties and community awareness projects.

Requirements:

  1. Must complete Community Hospice Care's 7 training sessions, complete application, and sign confidentiality statement yearly.
  2. Must provide 10 hours of volunteer service per year unless otherwise approved.
  3. BMV check and fingerprinting required.

Must provide proper documentation within 10 days of volunteer service.

INDIRECT CARE
VOLUNTEERS:
  • Assists with office duties.
  • Assists with fundraising activities.
  • Assists with mailings.
  • Assists with community awareness projects.
  • Provides other work not relating to patient involvement.

Requirements:

  1. Must complete Community Hospice Care's first training session, complete application and sign confidentiality statement yearly.
  2. Must provide 10 hours of volunteer service per year unless otherwise approved.

Must provide proper documentation within 10 days of volunteer service.

BEAUTICIAN VOLUNTEERS:
  • To be able to cut or perm a patient's hair when requested.
  • Shampoo, blow-dry & set.

Requirements:

  1. Must complete Community Hospice Care's first training session, complete application, and sign confidentiality statement yearly.
  2. BMV check and fingerprinting required.

Must provide proper documentation within 10 days of volunteer service.

COURIER VOLUNTEERS:
  • Runs errands for office.
  • Delivers equipment & supplies to families.

Requirements:

  1. Valid drivers license
  2. Valid auto insurance
  3. Must complete Community Hospice Care's first training session, complete application and sign confidentiality statement yearly.
  4. Must provide 10 hours of volunteer service per year unless otherwise approved.
  5. BMV check and fingerprinting required.

Must provide proper documentation within 10 days of volunteer service.

Internship: We provide availability for students to do internships and Community service hours.

WATCHMAN VOLUNTEERS:

  • Represent a faith congregation.

  • Educate church regarding Hospice.

  • Make Hospice referrals.

Requirements: Attend a Watchman's program orientation, complete application and sign confidentiality statement yearly.

 CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE IN SPRING AND FALL.
